Belle and Sebastian Therapy

I call it B&S therapy, these phases when the only sound that will suffice is that of our loverly scotty group with witty vocals and instrumentals. There is nothing like rediscovering a particular song and having it come to life yet again with all the meaning it had plus new ones. Poetry dark, sarcastic and very human. They don't beat around any bushes and tinge it all with particular innocence. I find there is always an appropriate line for any situation...I'll let them speak for themselves!

I'm in a mess, I'm in a dress

Honey loving you is the greatest thing, I get to be myself and I get to sing

The girl's gotta a lot to be mad about

When your legs are black and blue, it's time to take a break

Kid in the snow, way to go! It only happens once a year, it only happens once a lifetime, make the most of it. Second just to being born, second to dying too...

And it was hard, like coming of the pills that you take to stay happy

Well, who could blame her if she wants the night to follow day and back again, who could blame her if she sleeps?

Ghost figures of past present future haunting the now

Now you've got love to burn

It broke the heart of men and flowers and girls and trees

When the first cup of coffee tastes like washing up, she knows she's losing it

You should never split a pole, you should never split at all!

You're the funny little frog in my throat

And of course,
Oh, get me away from here I'm dying, play me a song to set me free!
